After Utah and Romania: third mysterious monolith discovered in California

Shortly after a similar structure was discovered in the Utah desert and later reappeared in Romania, a silvery column was found in Atascadero, California. Writes about it The Guardian.

A mysterious new metal monolith appeared on a mountaintop in California just a week after a similar structure captured the imagination of people around the world, when it was discovered in the Utah desert before it was destroyed and disappeared.

A local newspaper in the small town of Atascadero, on the central coast of California, reported: a silvery column was found at the top of Pine Mountain, where dozens of local tourists immediately went to see and take pictures.

“The three-sided obelisk appeared to be made of stainless steel, 10 feet (3 m) high and 18 inches (45 cm) wide. The object was welded at each corner with rivets securing the side panels to a likely steel frame inside,” Atascadero News reported.

Unlike its Utah brother, which was firmly anchored in the rocks, the Atascadero monolith appeared to be a little wobbly and the newspaper reported that it could be pushed.

• Eyewitnesses recorded it being dismantled and removed on the evening of November 27 by a group of four who reportedly "left with the shrapnel," and one of them said, "Leave no trace." On the same day a similar monolith appeared in the mountains of Romania.
