The head of Tesla Inc and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Twitter promised a prize of $ 100 million for developing the best technology to capture carbon dioxide emissions. Writes about it Fox Business.

Capturing global warming emissions is becoming an important part of many climate change control plans, but very little progress has been made in this technology to date, and efforts are focused on reducing emissions rather than removing carbon from the air.
The International Energy Agency said late last year that carbon capture technologies are needed to meet zero net emissions targets.

“I will give $100 million as a prize for the best carbon capture technology,” Musk wrote in a tweet. He later clarified: “Details will be available next week.”
Musk, who co-founded and sold internet payments company PayPal Holdings Inc, now heads several futuristic companies around the world.
In addition to Tesla, he runs the rocket company SpaceX and Neuralink, a startup that develops ultra-high-bandwidth brain-machine interfaces for connecting the human brain to computers.

US President Joe Biden has pledged to accelerate the development of carbon capture technology as part of his ambitious plan to tackle climate change. He appointed Jennifer Wilcox, an expert on carbon removal technologies, as the chief deputy assistant secretary for fossil fuels in the US Department of Energy.
