Woman dies after popular smartphone explosion
On September 8, a resident of India died due to the explosion of the Redmi 6A smartphone from the Chinese company Xiaomi. The incident was reported by the nephew of the deceased on his Twitter. The edition told in more detail Фокус.
According to Manjit, his aunt went to bed leaving the device on a pillow next to her face. Subsequently, the smartphone exploded for an unknown reason. Manjit turned to Xiaomi for help.
“She has an ordinary family, her son serves in the army. She only used her phone to make calls and watch YouTube,” the relative wrote.

Xiaomi India's support responded to the man in the comments and promised to contact the woman's family to look into the incident: "We support the family during this difficult time and hope to help them in every way we can."

Some users supported the author of the post and talked about similar problems with Redmi 6A. One of the commenters introduced himself as a technician and suggested that the problem could be a faulty charger or battery wear: the model was released about four years ago, and could become unusable after prolonged use. However, this does not remove the issue of device security.
