Stocked up for the winter: in North Dakota, a squirrel hid 70 kg of nuts in a local's car

A man from Fargo, North Dakota discovered how assertive and hardworking one red squirrel can be. The animal stuffed his pickup with nuts to the eyeballs, the newspaper said. Grand forks herald.

Bill Fisher cannot win a war with a rodent in his own backyard. A nut grows there, which the squirrel considers to be its own, and hides its fruits wherever it pleases.

The problem is, she chose Fischer's Chevy Avalanche as a winter haven for hundreds of nuts, each about the size of a small lemon.

“The squirrel comes up behind, walks along the frame rail and hides them in the front of the car,” Fisher explained. “Mostly under the hood and in the fenders.”

“She planned to camp there for the winter,” Fisher guessed.

Bill pulled out 70 kg of black walnuts from his pickup truck, which he found in every corner of his Chevy.

“I had to take the wings off and clean out all the walnuts. At first I thought that was it. But then I saw one rolling on the windshield in the place where the wipers are,” he said.

Fischer's dog named Ashur is also out of place because of this red-haired beast. While the gray squirrels tried to get their hands on these walnuts, she fought them off.

Bill managed to get out most of the black walnuts, but some of them are impossible to get.

“There are a few more nuts near the frame that I can’t get to,” Fisher noted.
