US decides what to do with $ 400 million military aid to Ukraine

The Ukrainian Embassy in the United States confirmed that the Donald Trump administration has unblocked more than $390 million in assistance under programs to strengthen the defense and security of Ukraine, writes “New time«.

“Congratulations on the support by the US Administration and Congress of the decision to unblock security assistance to Ukraine,” the embassy said on Facebook.

In particular, the assistance provides for $ 250 million from the Pentagon’s budget under the Security Assistance Initiative Ukraine program, $ 115 million from the US Department of State’s program International military funding from the 2019 budget of the year, and $ 26,5 million from the 2018 budget for the same program of the year. In total - $ 391,5 million

As noted, these funds are intended for the purchase of weapons and military equipment, the provision of services that enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Such support in the field of security by the United States of the people of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression is a testament to the strategic partnership between our countries and a significant contribution to strengthening European and Euro-Atlantic security," the Ukrainian embassy emphasized.
