Trump froze military aid to Ukraine after Bolton's visit to Kiev

During the review, money from the military budget will be frozen. The audit will be conducted by Head of the Department of Defense Mark Esper and Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security, John Bolton.

The appropriations committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress said they were experiencing "serious concerns about the freezing of these important funds." “We urgently send a request to the administration about why it delays the allocation of these resources,” the statement said.

In June, the Pentagon announced the allocation of 250 of millions of dollars for Ukrainian defense, noting that for this amount Kiev, in particular, will receive equipment for current training programs, sniper rifles and grenade launchers, radars, communications equipment and night vision devices.

In addition to the money that goes through the US defense department, in 2019, Kiev will also receive 445 million dollars from the Department of State.

Given these funds, over the past five years, the US has allocated Ukraine about 1,5 billion dollars for the development of the army.
