The most dangerous countries in the world are named: part of Ukraine is in the highest risk category

Libya, Syria and Afghanistan, according to the international medical and security experts International SOS, are recognized as some of the most dangerous countries. The directions were assigned one of five risk categories depending on the threat. The publication told about this in more detail. Independent.

Criteria are assigned depending on the political situation (terrorism, insurgency, politically motivated riots, wars) and social unrest (including religious, communal and ethnic violence), as well as violent and petty crimes.

The ranking of each country took into account, among other things, the reliability of transport infrastructure, the state of industrial relations, the effectiveness of security and emergency services, and the country's vulnerability to natural disasters.

The lowest risk level, "negligible", was assigned to only seven countries in Europe: Iceland, Denmark (and the Autonomous Territory of Greenland), Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Slovenia and Luxembourg.

Most of Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia are categorized as low risk.

Countries that have received the highest risk warning marked “extreme” for security purposes are mainly located in Africa or the Middle East. But this list also includes Donbass - the territory of Ukraine, where hostilities are taking place.

Ukraine itself belongs to the countries with the “medium” risk category. Russia has the same classification, only a small area on the Georgian border fell into the most dangerous category. But Belarus, along with the United States, was included in the list of countries with a low level of danger.

In total, there are 14 areas of extreme risk: Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Libya, Mali, Somalia, South Sudan and the Central African Republic, as well as parts of Mozambique, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ukraine, Pakistan, Iraq and Egypt.

According to International SOS, the situation in hazardous regions differs from the rest of the country, where a different level of risk is established.

Separate maps also assess the impact of COVID-19 on travel - examining the logistical impact of moving to a specific location, while regions with more stringent entry requirements receive the highest score.

Since last year, the travel risk rating for the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, has been raised from high to extreme to reflect the increasing risks associated with gang activities, including direct risks of crime.

Meanwhile, in Malaysia, the risk rating for Johor Bahru, Johor State, was downgraded from medium to low after careful review of security conditions.
