New information about immigrants from Uzbekistan, who committed the terrorist attack in New York

The person suspected of committing the terrorist attack on Manhattan is Saifullo Habibullaevich Saipov, he is 29 years old. The police did not officially disclose his name, however, sources in law enforcement agencies told his journalists a couple of hours after the crime.

In the evening of November 1, the Uzbek authorities confirmed that the suspect in the terrorist attack was Saifulla Saipov. As reported by the news agency Jahom, created at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Saipov was born in Tashkent 8 in February 1988 of the year. In 2005 – 2009, he studied at the Tashkent Financial Institute and later worked as an accountant. In 2010, he left for the United States and never returned to his homeland (Republic writes that, according to social networks, Saipov could live in Osh Kyrgyz and Vologda before leaving). Saipov got to the USA by winning the lottery of green cards, and immediately received the right to permanent residence in the USA (President Donald Trump, who had already proposed to cancel the program, after the terrorist attack again criticized her).

At first, Saipov lived with friends in Ohio - a member of this family, 22-year-old Behzhod Abdusamatov, said that Saipov did not know English well, so he began to learn the language and look for work. According to Xnumx-year-old Dilnoza Abdusamatova, Saipov basically worked and “did not go to parties or something.”

In 2013, he married Nozim Odilova, who also came from Tashkent, they lived in Cuyahoga Falls in Ohio. According to Abdusamatov, after the marriage he stopped communicating with their family. In Ohio, Saipov registered two companies that were engaged in road transport, Sayf Motors and Bright Auto.

Later, Saipov and his family moved to Florida - there he lived in Fort Myers and in Tampa. Kobidzhon Matkarov, who met Saipov there, told reporters that he knew him as a “very happy guy” who “smiled all the time” and “loved the USA”. “He didn’t look like a terrorist, but I didn’t know him from the inside,” he said.

In 2015, Saipov was interrogated by agents of the Ministry of Homeland Security because of her connections with two people who were monitored by counter-terrorism units, ABC News reported. The New York Times writes that he came to the attention of the authorities because of the investigation, but what it was connected with is unknown. As the newspaper reminds, recently in New York several immigrants from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were charged for supporting terrorists from the Islamic State.

For the past few months, Saipov has lived in Paterson, NJ. According to neighbor Saipov, he often saw him on the street with his wife and two children and talking with friends. In New Jersey, he became a driver at Uber and made more than 1400 trips in six months. As told in the company, there were no complaints about him; he successfully passed the biographical data check. According to reports, Saipov has never been prosecuted in the United States - CBS News found him only four fines for violating traffic rules.

31 October 2017, about two o'clock in the afternoon, he rented a car in Passeyk (located in New Jersey, part of the New York metropolitan area) and went to Manhattan. In 15: 05, he drove onto a cycling track along a river on West Street and began to shoot people down. Eight people died - including five tourists from Argentina and one Belgian.

Saipov drove about a mile and a half, turned off the track at the intersection with Chambers Street and crashed into a small school bus (four people inside were injured, including two children). After that, he ran out. According to eyewitnesses, he shouted “Allah Akbar”, he had a weapon in his hands (a paintball weapon and a traumatic weapon were found at the crime scene). A policeman named Ryan Nash shot Saipov and wounded him; the criminal was detained.

A total of 11 people suffered and were hospitalized. Four are in critical condition.

According to reports, a knife was found in Saipov’s car, as well as a note mentioning the IG. Terrorists have not yet taken responsibility for the attack. 1 November police stated that the man had planned the attack for several weeks.

According to CBS, Saipov did not show remorse at the hospital and “bragged” about the crime committed by the police; he allegedly stated that he would continue to shoot down people if he had not hit the bus.
