This statement he made during the Cabinet meeting at the White House 1 November, reports CNN.

"Today I begin the process of ending the lottery Diversity Visa. I intend to ask Congress to immediately begin work on getting rid of this program. Diversity Visa - Cteach well, but there is nothing good about it. There was nothing good about it, and we were against it, ”the president said.

Trump added that he would make every effort to get rid of chain migration as soon as possible and move to a merit-based immigration system.

Previously, the need to cancel the lottery on the draw of green cards the head of the White House wrote in his microblog Twitterby accusing Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of advocating for this program.
