Canada to open borders to vaccinated Americans in August
From August 9, fully vaccinated US citizens and permanent residents of the United States will be allowed to enter Canada. Writes about it CNN.
Non-essential travel to Canada has been banned since March 2020, which the Canadian government said was necessary to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
International travelers can also be approved to enter Canada starting Sept. 7, provided "the epidemiology of COVID-19 remains favorable," the Canadian government said in a statement.
All foreign travelers who have not received a full vaccination will continue to be banned from entering Canada.
All fully vaccinated US citizens and permanent residents must receive a full series of vaccines or combination of vaccines approved by the Canadian government at least 14 days prior to entering Canada, according to the statement.

These vaccines are currently manufactured by Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.
Other vaccines, including those from China or Russia, are not recognized by Canada. Officials say they are continuing to "study them" and will announce the changes.
Travelers must provide proof that they have been vaccinated.
Unvaccinated minors under the age of 12 who enter Canada with a vaccinated parent or guardian will not be quarantined for 14 days.
Another policy change: Fully vaccinated travelers will not need a test upon arrival, unless they were randomly selected at the port of entry to undergo a molecular test for COVID-19.
All travelers arriving in Canada, regardless of vaccination status, will require a negative PCR or molecular test within 72 hours of requesting entry.
The White House has refused to commit to opening its border to Canadians.

“We continue to review our travel restrictions, and any decisions to resume travel will be made by our public health and medical experts,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.
“We take this incredibly seriously, but we are watching and guided by the opinions of our own medical experts,” Psaki said.
The White House has been pressured by foreign allies to resume international travel after maintaining the bans imposed by the previous administration.
This was the topic of discussion between US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who wondered why the restrictions remain in place.
Following this meeting, Biden said he could say more "in the next few days" about lifting travel restrictions for people coming from Europe.
The United States has set up working groups with allies in the UK and the European Union to resume travel, but the results of these discussions are not yet clear. Last month, the EU lifted travel restrictions for US citizens.
