Los Angeles County resumes quarantine and closes beaches again

Los Angeles County will close its beaches on Friday, July 3, and ban fireworks on the eve of July Fourth (US Independence Day), which health officials say is necessary in light of the alarming surge in coronavirus infections. Writes about it KTLA.

Although it was a “difficult decision,” the closure is crucial because so many people gather to celebrate Independence Day, and it's just “a recipe for increasing COVID-19 transmission,” Barbara County Health Director said in a statement Ferrer.

“We all need to take this virus more seriously, and residents and business owners need to do their part,” Ferrer said. “Physical distancing, wearing face coverings, spending time only with those you live with are requirements in the order of health professionals, we must protect each other, our families and those who are most vulnerable.”

All public beaches, piers, public parking on beaches, bike paths and access points to the beach will be closed from midnight on Friday, July 3, until 05:00 on Monday, July 6. The ban on fireworks applies only to the weekend of the fourth of July. Ferrer said an amended decree will be issued Monday night.
