34 Thousands of Immigrants Will Receive US Citizenship By Constitution Day

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that in honor of Constitution Day and Citizenship, almost 34 300 immigrants will receive American citizenship during 316 naturalization ceremonies throughout the country. Ceremonies will be held from 13 to 23 September.

One of the naturalization ceremonies will be held on September 17 in the Constitutional Hall, Acting Director of USCIS Ken Cucinelli will swear in 1000 of new US citizens.

“232 years ago, our great country adopted the United States Constitution, and as we celebrate Constitution Week, it is worth emphasizing the importance of citizens' responsibility to defend the Constitution,” Cuccinelli said. — 34 new US citizens followed the law on their path to naturalization and now call the US home. I can think of no better way to celebrate Constitution Week than to welcome the thousands of new U.S. citizens who have assimilated, made a commitment to our great country, and sworn to uphold the Constitution.”

17 September, the nation celebrates Constitution Day and Citizenship as part of Constitution Week (17 – 23 this September). The celebration is dedicated to the signing of the Constitution, which was held 17 September 1787 year. Citizenship Day dates back to 1952 on the basis of the law on its celebration, signed by President Harry Truman.
