You will be introduced to Joycean motifs in the work of Yuri Olesha, Vladimir Nabokov, Andrey Bitov, Sasha Sokolov, and Mikhail Shishkin, all of whom relied on the writers' texts, in particular Ulysses and Finnegans Wake, to answer the shifting questions in their relevant Soviet, emigrant and post-Soviet contexts. The debate about Joyce's influence on Russian literature is still relevant even a century after his death.

In Israel, there is no need for Russian-speaking dubbing artists, and Victor and Raisa's attempts to use their talent caused strange and unexpected reactions in the first months of their stay in Israel. Thus, the beginning of a new chapter in their lives turned into a funny, painful and absurd experience.
