The abandoned bride decided not to lose heart and made a holiday for herself out of a failed wedding for $ 13

The bride, who was abandoned on the morning of her wedding day, made the bold decision to continue the celebration surrounded by her loved ones. Caylee Stead, hours before the ceremony, in which she invested all her savings, found out that she would not marry her partner, with whom she had lived for almost four years. The runaway wife, 27, performed, danced and even posed for professional photos on September 15 at the Oxwich Bay Hotel in Gower, Wales.

Brave Kaylie had her first dance with the groom's friends, her brothers and father Brian, who is 71 years old.

Now living alone with her honeymoon canceled, Kaylie is glad she did have the party, so the money and effort wasn't wasted. She spent £12 ($13) on the entire holiday.

Her friends have rallied around her by setting up a GoFundMe page to try and recoup some of the expenses.

Insurance clerk Kayleigh, who lives in Portmead, UK, said: “Saw the groom around 16pm the day before the wedding and haven't heard from him since. We tried to contact him, but I didn't get a response from him."

“It was an absolute shock, I had no indication that he was going to do it, but seeing my girls going crazy too, I wanted to change the situation. “I didn’t want to remember that day as full of sadness,” Kaylee noted. “We've been saying all day that it was like an episode of Hollyoaks or EastEnders.” It didn't feel like a real situation."

“I spent all this money and looked forward to eating, dancing with my father, spending time with my family. That's why I decided that I had to do it, no matter what," Kaylie said.

She and her ex-fiance began dating in December 2018 and got engaged in August 2020.

The night before the wedding, Kaylie stayed in the rented house to celebrate the upcoming holiday with the bridesmaids, while the groom and his buddies stayed in a trailer near the wedding venue.

Kaylie said: "My fiancé and I agreed not to talk the night before the wedding anyway, so I didn't know what was going on on his part. I had no idea."

According to her, the groom's friends contacted her on the day of the wedding to inform her that he had left.

Kaylee said: “We woke up at a quarter past seven when the makeup artist came in, had breakfast together and then started getting ready.

“One of the groom's friends contacted my best friend and said that the groom had left. My friends decided to hide my phone so they could figure out the best way to tell me in the meantime so that I wouldn't find out about it from someone else. They wanted to make sure he was definitely gone before they panicked," she said.

“I found my phone and saw a missed call from his mom. Called her back. She was crying and told me that he left to ride early in the morning and he is still gone. I wasn't nervous at the time, I was still full of hope, because throughout our relationship, he sometimes went for a walk or went on a trip to clear his head when he was nervous. For a couple of hours I said that he would come, and reassured the girls. I sincerely believed that he would be there,” Kaylie continues. “I asked my girlfriends, his family and friends to keep preparing as I sincerely believed that he would be there.”

Around 11:00 a.m., Kaylie sat down to get her hair done, but happened to be talking to the groom's father on the phone.

He told her that the groom would not attend the wedding.

Kayleigh said: “I cried. I told my parents, hairdresser and videographer that there would be no wedding. Jokingly, the videographer said: “Aren’t you girls continuing? You spent all this money and you can't get it back. All your guests are there, why don’t you just take a walk?

"My sister was updating my makeup and said, 'Why don't you do this, Kaylee?' That's when I thought I was going to do this. I spent all that money so I was looking forward to eating, dancing with my dad, spending time with my family. Why not?" - she decided.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen went together to the ceremony room and told the guests what had happened, then asked them to go to the garden to meet Kaylie.

The bride said, “I didn't want to see the ceremonial room—I've never seen what it looks like. When my sister and my best friend explained to the guests what had happened, everyone cried because they were looking forward to this day. I asked for 10 minutes for myself before seeing my guests and then, instead of walking down the aisle, I walked around the corner in my dress and everyone just looked at me. Nobody knew what to do, I think they were a little afraid to say something, and then everyone just started cheering and hugging me.”

All guests stayed. With their support, Kaylee continued with her planned day without a fiancé and made changes to turn a devastating day into a beautiful one.

Instead of the traditional bride and groom exit, Kaylie was joined by bystanders from both sides, singing and dancing on their way to the main table.

She said: “In fact, everything was done spontaneously. Instinct kicked in and we just followed it. I wanted to take photos because all the witnesses and bridesmaids looked absolutely amazing and I wished they had their own shots. The photographer took a picture of me in a dress in the garden, and then we took family photos, as well as bridesmaids instead of the bride and groom.

“I wasn’t going to give a speech, but I wanted to thank everyone for staying. It was a very awkward situation for them, but they all stayed, ”said Kaylie.

The photo booth originally said "Mr. and Mrs.", but the sign was quickly changed to Kayley's Shindig.

Instead of sharing her first dance with her fiancé, Kaylie danced with her father, brothers and friends of the groom to Dolly Parton's Love You To The Moon and Back.

She said: “I have always dreamed of dancing with my father at my wedding. He is 71 years old and I was always afraid that he and my 63 year old mother would not be at my wedding, so I always wanted to dance with him. Witnesses have joined us. I wanted to thank them for staying, not running away. I would understand if they ran away, but they were by my side all day.”

Instead of going through the tunnel with her fiancé, Kaylie proceeded alone and spent the night away with her guests and then partyed in the honeymoon suite with her friends.

She is now adjusting to a new single life without a fiancé and is not going on a honeymoon trip to Turkey.

Kaylie packed her ex's things and left them with the family without any word or explanation from him.

“I don’t want anyone to think that I gave him a reason to leave me, because before I had no suspicions that he was going to do this. I had no clue, no signal. He did not explain to me why he left me that day, the abandoned bride reflects. “Just a couple of days before the wedding, we went out to eat together, he talked about the honeymoon, and last Christmas he bought me a book with a million reasons why he loves me. They are all handwritten, with our special moments.”

Kaylee's best friend and bridesmaid, 27-year-old GoFundMe founder Jordie Cullen, said: "Kaley has a heart of gold and is willing to do anything for the people she loves. She didn't deserve to be left on the morning of her wedding with no explanation and zero contact from the groom. Now we're asking you to help us pick up our baby girl, dust ourselves off and move on. As her best friends and family, we want to help her start a new life so she never has to suffer financially from the consequences of this ordeal."
