A resident of Louisiana opened fire on children playing near his house: a 14-year-old girl is in the hospital

The shooting occurred on the morning of May 7 in a small community in southwestern Louisiana.

58-year-old David Doyle was detained. He is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm, the Calcasieu County Sheriff's Office said.

Police say the teenagers were playing hide-and-seek and went to Doyle's lot.

Doyle himself told detectives that he "saw shadows outside his house" and went to get the weapon. When he returned, he saw people running from his territory and started shooting at them. It was a group of teenagers.

This is not the first shooting incident in recent memory involving teenagers who are said to have mistakenly approached the wrong person or mixed up the address.
