The woman caused chaos in the plane: now she faces the biggest fine in the history of aviation

A woman who violated the rules of conduct on an airplane faces a whopping $81 fine, the largest monetary penalty imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to date. Writes about it New York Post.

July 6, 2021 on board American Airlines plane passenger attacked the crew and tried to open the door during the flight. The crew had to tie her up with duct tape.

She became popular after a video posted by TikTok user @lol.ariee showed her duct-taped to her seat on Flight 1774 from Dallas, Texas to Charlotte, North Carolina.

The plane was delayed for about three hours, which made the passengers nervous. A crew member said that during the landing, the woman had an outburst of rage, and she wanted to get off the plane immediately.

“She said, 'I need to get off this plane,' then walked up to the exits and started banging on the doors, saying, 'You need to let me off this plane!'” user @lol.ariee wrote.

The airline said the woman attacked and bit the flight attendant after she "tried to open the front door to board." She was isolated "for the safety of other clients and the team."

Federal Aviation Administration also issued a $77 fine — the second largest ever — against a woman aboard a Delta flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta on July 272, 16.

The agency said she wanted to "hug and kiss" another passenger, tried to get off the plane during the flight and bit another passenger several times before the crew stopped her.

The two fines are part of about $2 million in punitive damages proposed by the FAA this year.

Passengers have 30 days to respond after receiving a letter from the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA says its zero-tolerance policy for unruly behavior and a public awareness campaign have reduced such incidents by almost 60%.

“Federal law prohibits interfering with the affairs of an aircraft crew, or attacking or threatening to physically attack an aircraft crew or anyone else on the aircraft,” the agency said in a statement.
