The strictest law on abortion in the United States will take effect in six months.

Alabama has approved a law that would almost completely ban abortion, even in cases of incest or violence. The document was signed by the governor, and it became the strictest ban of its kind in the United States, writes Air force.

Abortion will be allowed only in certain situations when there is a serious threat to the health of the mother.

What does the law say?

The law is a continuation of the legislation recently banning abortion in other states in the United States after fetal heartbeat can be detected, usually around six weeks of gestation.

Under Alabama's new legislation, performing an abortion at any stage of pregnancy would be a Class A felony.

Doctors can be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for attempting to terminate a pregnancy and up to 99 years for actually performing the procedure.

A woman who has an abortion will not be prosecuted by law.

The document says that an abortion can be done if the mother’s life is in grave danger.

The text of the law states that more people were killed due to terminated pregnancies than in “Stalin’s Gulag and the Cambodian killing fields.”

Alabama-led measures have been added to the list of more than US 300 abortion laws.

This law is being taken in the wake of measures to combat abortion in states controlled by Republicans.

The Democrats in Virginia recently tried to pass a bill that would allow abortion in the third trimester right up to the moment of the birth of the child, but did not receive approval.
