The US Senate supported the document recognizing Russia as a "sponsor of terrorism"
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee supported the bill, which obliges US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to consider whether Russia is a country sponsoring terrorism. Writes about this RBC with reference to a Bloomberg correspondent.
This is a document entitled “On Preventing Malicious Activities of Russia in the Field of Terrorism” (Stopping Malign Activities from Russian Terrorism Act). The author of the bill was Colorado Republican Senator Corey Gardner. The bill "obliges the secretary of state to determine whether the Russian Federation should be considered a sponsor of terrorism and whether Russian-sponsored armed groups should be declared foreign terrorist organizations."

“No later than 90 days after the date of entry into force of this Law, the Secretary of State must submit a report to the relevant congressional committees indicating whether the Russian Federation meets the criteria for recognition as a state sponsor of terrorism,” the text of the document reads.
The document is now pending approval in the Senate, then in the House of Representatives. If passed in both houses of Congress, the document will be sent for signature to US President Donald Trump.
