Weekend weather will give New Yorkers a big surprise
The fast-moving storm moved through the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut early Friday afternoon, with flash flood warnings issued throughout the region. The rain will begin to ease in the afternoon. And the good news: weather forecasters promise excellent weather this weekend.
Meteorologists predicted at least two inches (5 cm) of rain, radar shows that the storm was near the coast of Long Island before 8: 30 in the morning, writes NBC New York. Flood warnings issued for areas of the city expired earlier, although they remain relevant to some cities in New Jersey until mid-morning.
The good news is that the whole day will not pour. The rains will begin to subside closer to noon, then the sky will be covered with clouds, and the evening may be sunny.
All this time, the weather will stay cool with maximum temperatures around 60 degrees Fahrenheit (around 16 Celsius).
Temperatures will rise over the weekend with highs in the 70s (22-23) expected both days and sunny, dry weather.
