Mosquitoes in California that transmit Zika virus

Health officials have discovered mosquitoes that can carry the Zika virus, in Long Beach, California. After this mosquito Aedes aegypti also found in other areas of southern california.

“We are actively communicating and asking residents and visitors to take all necessary precautions to prevent mosquito bites,” said Mayor Robert Garcia.

According to the mayor of the city, mosquitoes were discovered in North Long Beach, and officials aimed at problem areas in the hope of preventing the spread of mosquitoes.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that as of 31 in May, there were about 5300 cases of Zika virus infection in the United States, of which 224 people were infected by local mosquitoes and 5206 people traveled to the affected areas. The best way to prevent Zika is to prevent mosquito bites. Mosquitoes typically lay eggs in and around standing water in containers such as old tires, buckets, bowls, pet dishes, flower pots and vases.
