Hurricane Dorian and the iPhone 11: what Americans searched for on Google in 2019
There were a lot of events in 2019 that kept people interested—celebrity scandals, catastrophic events, and the release of new gadgets. Writes about this USA Today.
There was an incident with actor Jussi Smollett involving the Chicago police. Hurricane Dorian broke through the Bahamas, leaving dozens of dead and causing unthinkable destruction. And Apple released an iPhone with a triple camera, which conquered social networks.
Each of these points was one of the most popular 2019 searches of the year on Google.
The search giant has released an annual summary overview of the most popular searches.
What was the most popular term?
Disney Plus.
Disney’s latest streaming platform comes with access to iconic paintings from the Star Wars franchise, several Disney Channel originals, and other popular shows and films that made people talk about it.
Also among the most Googled was Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce, who died in the summer. Apple's iPhone 11 is the only gadget product in Google's top 10.
