State's youngest victim: 19-year-old girl dies from COVID-9 in Florida
In Florida, a 9-year-old girl died from coronavirus infection, becoming the youngest victim of a pandemic in this state, writes New York Post.
Kimora "Kimmy" Linum died in her sleep at her home in Gainesville on the night of July 17, relatives said.
"She was a happy child, but she didn't even get to live her life," said cousin Dejon Kane.
Family members said the girl had no health problems when she contracted COVID-19.
“She was doing well, but at some point she suddenly developed a fever,” Kane said.
The girl's mother took her to the hospital, but, according to relatives, the child was sent home. After a while, the girl fell ill and died of cardiac arrest.
According to local media reports, health workers confirmed the child's death, and records showed that her infection was not related to travel. The state did not report if there were any other health problems.
The family said they did not know how Kimmy contracted COVID-19, stating that she stayed at home all summer and did not communicate with anyone who had the virus confirmed.

She was the only child of her mother. According to Kane, the girl's father was shot dead in April.
“It’s like a double whammy,” Kane said. “We buried him, and now we’ll bury her.” She was an incredible child."
Kimmy became the fifth minor to die from COVID-19 in Florida, where at least 5854 people have died from the virus.
As of Monday morning, July 27, Florida had at least 423 cases of coronavirus infection, according to Johns Hopkins University.
