“In other regions, with the exception of Hubei, we will be able to defeat the virus during February, and in the center of the epidemic, we will eliminate this epidemic during March,” the ambassador said.

He also said that the mortality rate from coronavirus in the region, which is the center of the spread of the disease, is 2%, and throughout the country - 0,55%. In addition, the diplomat said that “across the entire territory of China, with the exception of Hubei province, no new cases of infection have been recorded for more than 10 days.”

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus is also decreasing in Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic, Zhang Hanhui added.

“To date, more than 18 thousand people have already been discharged from hospitals,” the ambassador said.

Zeng Yixin, deputy head of the State Health Committee of the PRC, said that Chinese scientists plan to create a vaccine against coronavirus in April - May 2020. Its development is carried out in five directions.

Chinese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Xu Nanping said that three methods of treating the disease caused by coronavirus are currently undergoing clinical trials, including the use of stem cells and the drug Favipiravir. According to him, there are first positive results.
