Found a gun in the forest: in Georgia, a 5-year-old boy shot his teenage brother
In Georgia, a 5-year-old boy shot his 12-year-old brother with a pistol, which he found in a forest on the weekend. Writes about it USA Today.
Griffin City Police on May 13 found a 12-year-old teenager with a gunshot wound to the chest. The officers provided first aid, the boy was taken to the hospital, where he died.
According to the statement, the victim, his brother and sister, aged 5 and 7, respectively, were in the forest when a 5-year-old boy found a gun. After talking with the child, the special investigators came to the conclusion that he thought it was a toy and shot his brother.
Police said officers searched the area where the gun was found. They found a bag, suspecting that it contained drugs. But there was no weapon there.

In a statement, Griffin’s police said the shooting was most likely a “tragic accident,” and officers will now have to investigate who dropped the weapon.
“We will pursue any other parties responsible for these actions,” officials said.
According to authorities, the analysis pistol was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Crime Investigation Bureau.
