Frightening statistics: how many people in the US have gun permits

There are states where permission is required, and local authorities help determine whether or not to grant it. It:

• California (residents only);
• Connecticut;
• Delaware (residents only);
• Hawaii;
• Maryland;
• Massachusetts;
• New Jersey;
• New York;
• Rhode Island.

Some states do not have any wearing laws. This means that most individuals are not allowed to carry weapons. In California, such a law is valid in 12 counties. In other districts, although these laws are technically not, they are in practice. It is valid in the following states:

• Hawaii;
• Maryland;
• Massachusetts;
• New Jersey;
• New York.

There are currently 18,66 million people in the United States who have permission to covertly carry or license weapons. These statistics are taken from the Report on the hidden carrying of weapons for 2019, conducted by the Crime Prevention Research Center, writes USA Carry.

On the one hand, this number includes 16 states that have constitutional status. The number of permits to carry may be lower in some of these states, since people no longer need permission to carry hidden weapons. • 30% of adult Americans say they have a gun (according to a Pew poll);
• 72% of people say they have a mini-gun or pistol;
• 11% of gun owners say they carry them all the time;
• 26% say they have it with them most of the time;
• 57% say they have it with them at least sometimes.

• 2,4% carry weapons all the time;
• 5,4% carry most of the time with them;
• 12,3% carry with them at least sometimes.

The likelihood that any person has a hidden permission to use a pistol is 5,4%. In a room with 10 people, the probability that at least one person will have permitted concealed weapons is 43%. In a room with 20 people, this probability increases to 67%. From 40, this probability increases to 89%.

There is a 100% chance that anyone with a weapon is allowed to carry it anywhere.
