'To establish a balance': the USA will additionally issue 35 thousand work visas
US Presidential Administration Donald Trump announced an additional 35 temporary work visas in 000. This was stated by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), writes CNN.

The visa, formally known as H-2B, allows employers to bring in foreign workers to the United States for temporary non-farm work such as landscaping, hospitality, and other industries.
A DHS statement on Thursday said that “supplementary distribution was determined after extensive consultations with stakeholders, including members of Congress and the Department of Labor,” adding that it “is intended to establish a careful balance that benefits American business and American workers ".
Congress sets a limit on the number of permitted visas for a fiscal year. This number is currently 66 visas. In the past, business, along with lawmakers, advocated for a visa program to meet the demand for seasonal jobs.

But proponents of immigration cuts say these visas lower wages and stop American workers from getting a job.
The additional visas will be issued in two waves - 20 starting April 000, and 1 starting May 15, DHS said.
This year there will also be an additional 10 visas for citizens of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras to help stop the flow of immigrants to the US-Mexico border. Three countries have entered into agreements with the United States to reduce the number of asylum seekers arriving at the US-Mexico border.
This is not the first time DHS has granted more visas. In May 2019, the Trump administration granted an additional 30 seasonal work visas.
