A strong earthquake hits California: what can residents expect
On August 14, an 4,5 magnitude earthquake hit the Bay Area in California and surrounding counties. Writes about this Fox News.
Around 22: 33 evenings east of San Francisco in the Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, and Concord areas were mild tremors.
An earthquake could overturn unprotected objects, such as books and picture frames, and could break dishes or windows.
According to the US Geological Survey, weak shocks have also been reported in San Francisco, Auckland, and San Jose.
According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of about 9 miles (14,5 km). The National Weather Service claims there is no tsunami threat.
Authorities in the affected districts said no injuries were reported.
