The disaster near Smolensk: on the wreckage of the plane Kaczynski found traces of explosives

British experts found traces of trotyl on the wreckage of ex-Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who crashed near Smolensk in 2010. Physical and chemical examinations for the presence of traces of explosive materials are also conducted by laboratories in Italy and Northern Ireland.

Forensic Explosives Laboratory (FEL) experts found traces of TNT in most of the 200 samples of the broken Tu-154M ex-Polish President Lech Kaczynski. This is reported by the Polish edition of Gazeta Polska Codziennie, writes UNIAN.

It is noted that British experts have confirmed the findings of the subcommittee of the ex-Minister of National Defense of Poland Anonia Matserevich on the investigation of the plane crash that took place on 10 on April 2010 of the year in Smolensk.

“The vast majority of the 200 samples that the National Prosecuting Authority handed over to the Ministry of Defense (UK) laboratory in May 2017 contained traces of materials used to produce explosives, in particular TNT,” the report said. In addition to the laboratory in the UK, physical and chemical examinations for the presence of traces of explosive materials on board the aircraft are carried out by laboratories in Italy and Northern Ireland.

Let us recall that on April 10, 2010, a Tu-154 plane crashed near the Severny airfield near Smolensk. On board were the President of Poland Kaczynski, his wife and other dignitaries - a total of 96 people. They all died.

The Interstate Aviation Committee called the causes of the accident the wrong actions of the crew and psychological pressure on him. In turn, the State Aviation Commission for the investigation of air crashes of the Polish Interior Ministry acknowledged the crew’s mistake as the cause of the crash, highlighting the lack of air navigation support from the aerodrome controllers as a factor in the accident.

Supporters of the Polish Law and Justice Party (PiS), whose co-founder was Kaczynski, are convinced that the disaster was the result of an organized attempt on the life of the president, and said that the authorities of Poland and the Russian Federation are hiding this. In Poland, they decided to re-investigate the causes of the Smolensk disaster and created a new commission.

10 April, the former Minister of Defense of Poland, chairman of the subcommittee for the investigation of the Smolensk disaster, Anthony Matserevich, said that the cause of death was an explosion that occurred before the plane fell to the ground. In turn, the RF IC claims that there was no explosion on board the aircraft.
