Immigration authorities release 375 illegal immigrants with their families

The United States released 375 illegal immigrants who entered the United States with their family members in 000, writes National Review.

A total of 473 illegal immigrants were detained while entering the United States with at least one family member from October 682 to September 2018.

Of the 375 released, 000 were issued by the border patrol without being transferred to the Immigration and Customs, and 145 were transferred to the ICE and later released from ICE facilities. The Immigration Service reported that families were released both due to a lack of places to be kept in custody and because of a 000 court ruling that prevents the agency from supporting families for more than 230 days.

Persons directly released by the border patrol were given a “notice of appearance” at the hearing, which would determine when they would be returned to their country of origin.

In addition to 473 illegal immigrants with families who crossed the border in 682, border patrol agents detained approximately 2019 unaccompanied minors. The number of families trying to illegally cross the border has decreased since the fall of 76.

The Trump administration has taken a number of measures to counteract illegal immigration, including the “Stay in Mexico” rule, which requires asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while their asylum cases are pending in the United States.

President Trump has also made the construction of the wall on the US-Mexican border a central item on his agenda, redirecting funds from the Pentagon to pay for construction.
