Arrest of an illegal in court led to protests
An immigrant who was brought to the United States at 3, was arrested at a court in the Bronx. Immigration officers stated that he was illegally in the country, writes New York Post.
Xnumx-year-old Abubakar Dembele, who is married to a US citizen, went to a criminal court to testify after a bus fight in December, but he was handcuffed.

Eight to ten officers in civilian clothes participated in the arrest of Dembélé, who introduced themselves as “National Security,” said his wife.

Dembele’s lawyer, Monica Doula, said that her client had initially been a victim in a bus incident and had defended herself. The charges were changed from felony to misdemeanor.
The arrest of Dembede prompted two human rights groups to speak with a rally in protest against the actions of the federal authorities.
