In America, it is so cold that Niagara Falls is partially frozen. The winter storm, which covered the Midwest with snow and turned the northeast of the country into a freezer, stopped the rapid flows of the waterfall in some parts of it.

Visitors to Niagara Falls photographed icy views and videotaped the water that breaks through the snow-ice cover, writes CNN.

One of the falls' visitors, Emma Grapham, told CNN she felt like she was in a fairytale "Elsa's castle."

“There was so much ice on the stairs that were set up just outside the observation deck—it felt like Elsa had just reached out and covered those steps with snow and ice like she did in the movie,” says Emma.

It is expected that chilling cold will continue in some parts of the northeast this week.

New Englanders can expect record low temperatures of -5 to -20 below zero Fahrenheit (-20 to -29 Celsius) on Tuesday, and high wind warnings will remain in place in many parts of the Northeast until Wednesday morning.

According to CNN's meteorologist Michael Guy, there will be another cold snap over the weekend, and the low temperatures with the winds will continue for about two weeks.
