In New York, January 21 will be the coldest day of the year, 2019
Residents of the three states woke up on a dangerous cold day in the morning: the arctic air continued to attack the region, and on Martin Luther King's Day a piercing wind was added to it.
According to weather forecasters, 21 January for New York could be the coldest day of the season and probably the record cold year in 2019.
After the winter storm brought rain and sleet to certain areas of the three states, the air temperature throughout the region began to decline sharply, and to the north and west of New York it fell to 10 inches (25 centimeters) of snow, writes NBC New York.

A winter storm caused the death of one person over the weekend when an icy tree fell on a lineman in Connecticut. The man died on the spot.
Strong wind warnings were issued for most of the region at least until Tuesday noon. Although the forecasts promise a temperature of around 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius), due to humidity and winds it will feel like -20-10 (-28-23 Celsius).
Despite the fact that by the end of Monday the wind should ease slightly, it will remain sharp and cold until late evening. Minimum thermometers will not drop as much as last night, but they will still drop to the level from 0 to -10 Fahrenheit (from -17 to -23 Celsius) overnight.
On Sunday, Governor Cuomo urged New Yorkers not to go outside unless absolutely necessary for the next few days. The city has issued a special Code Blue alert, meaning no homeless people will be kicked out of the shelter. High wind warnings remained in effect throughout the region over the weekend.
