American woman spent the entire 5-hour flight in the toilet of the plane due to a positive test for COVID-19

A school teacher from the United States said that she spent five hours in self-isolation in an airplane toilet after she tested positive for COVID-19 on the way. Writes about it with the BBC.

Marisa Fotieo said that on December 20, she was flying from Chicago, Illinois to Reykjavik, Iceland, but suddenly felt a sore throat.

The teacher made a quick test, which she took with her. The result confirmed that she had the coronavirus.

Towards the end of the trip, she was isolated in an airplane toilet, with a flight attendant bringing food and drinks for her.

It is not known if she took a COVID-19 test before boarding the flight. Fully vaccinated people can enter Iceland without presenting a test.

“I had a crazy experience,” admitted Photieo. “There were 150 people on the flight, and my biggest fear was infecting them.”

The video, which Marisa posted on TikTok from the closet of an Icelandair plane, has been viewed over four million times. She commended the flight attendant for helping her during this test.

“The flight attendant made sure I had everything I needed for the next five hours, including food and drinks. She constantly visited me, assuring me that everything would be fine with me,” said the passenger.

Fotieo said that upon arriving in Iceland, she had to self-isolate in a hotel.
