19 foreigners face jail for voting in US elections
19 foreign citizens are accused of illegally voting in elections in the 2016 year, and a US citizen is being prosecuted in the case of aiding and abetting a foreigner to illegal voting.
The investigation was conducted by the US Immigration and Customs (ICE), the Office of Internal Security (HSI). The data is published on the ICE website.
A federal jury in Wilmington, North Carolina, accused the following individuals of registering for stateless North Carolina voting, as well as illegal voting. If found guilty, they face a maximum fine of $ 350 000 and 6 years of federal prison.
Among the accused are the following:
- José Cruz Solano-Rodriguez, 41 year, from Mexico;
- Guadalupe Espinosa-Pena, 63 of the Year, from Mexico;
- Sarah Emilia Silveio-Polanco, 35 years, from the Dominican Republic;
- Elizabeth Nene Amachagi, 44, from Nigeria;
- Maria Rufina Castillo-Boswell, 31 year, from the Philippines;
- Dora Damatá Rodriguez, 64 of the Year, from Panama;
- Elvis David Fullerton, 54 of the Year, from Grenada;
- Olive Agatha Martin, 71 year, from Guyana;
- Kaoru Saules, 54, from Japan.
Criminal voting charges were also filed against the following foreign nationals. If they are found guilty, they will face a maximum fine of $ 100 000 and 12 months in federal prison.
Among the accused are the following:
- José Jaime Ramiro-Torres, 52, of El Salvador;
- Juan Francisco Landeros-Mireles, 64, from Mexico;
- Alessandro Cannizzaro, 46 years, from Italy;
- Dieudonna Sofils, 71 Year, from Haiti;
- Hyo Suk George, 69 years, from Korea;
- Marieus Jean, 54 of the Year, from Haiti;
- Rosemary Angelica Harris, 60 years, from Germany;
- Daniel Tadeusz Romanovsky, 39 years, from Poland.
Separately, criminal charges of fraud and visa abuse and illegal voting were filed against 26-year-old Diana Patricia Franco-Rodriguez from Mexico. If found guilty, she faces a maximum fine of $ 350 000 and 26 for years in federal prison.
The American, 66-year-old Densloh Allen Page, is accused of aiding and abetting Espinosa-Pena to falsely claim that he has US citizenship to vote. If convicted, he faces a maximum fine of $ 250 000 and 5 in federal prison.
All defendants are presumed innocent until the court finds them guilty.
