New Yorker brutally beaten at McDonald's in Manhattan

Elizabeth Storelli filed a lawsuit against workers at McDonald's on Upper West Side on West 71 Street and Broadway for not helping her when she stumbled upon a woman in a crowded institution and was severely beaten.

“I thought I was going to die,” said Storelli, a 49-year-old nurse.

The woman said that she was returning home from the bar, where she and her friends drank a couple of glasses of wine, and stopped at Mickey D's.

“I wasn’t eating, so I went there and ordered fries and a cheeseburger,” Storelli recalls.

“There were a lot of people there and the girl bumped into me, after which the situation escalated. She called me a white b---- and then a guy came up and poured soda on my head,” Storelli said. - I was shocked. I swear. The next thing I remember is a group of people walking towards me.”

Storelli said she ran out of the restaurant, but a group of people followed her outside: "As soon as I left McDonald`s, I was pushed onto the sidewalk, and the boys and girls just surrounded me and started hitting me on the head and kicking."

According to the woman, not a single McDonald's employee came to her rescue.

“There were, I think, three [McDonald's workers] there. I remember the manager walking around saw it,” Storelli said. - Nobody interfered at all. They just watched."

Even the judge of the Supreme Court of Manhattan said: "After soda was poured on her head, the defendants had to take protective measures."

A Stranelly came to the aid of a stranger who held the head of the woman until the police arrived.

As a result, the woman received a concussion and a broken rib.

Two women, 16-year-old Zhoselin Santos and 33-year-old Annie Figueros are accused of assault and stalking. But their cases are closed without a criminal record.

The victim’s lawyer, Joseph Napoli, said that the eatery has security protocols instructing staff on how to deal with violent incidents, but they were not respected.

Napoli said that there was a surveillance video inside the eatery, but McDonald`s told him that the police had withdrawn the tape.
