According to officials, a high school student in Florida committed suicide in a school hall, asking for a toilet.

A 17-year-old student asked for permission to leave high school at Mary Lake near Orlando around 7: 45 in the morning. About five minutes later, the teacher said she heard a shot from the hall.

The school where the incident occurred was temporarily blocked, but then the students were allowed to go home.

The Sheriff of Seminol County Lemma said at a press conference that during the shooting in the hall there were neither employees nor students. Having heard the shot, the school nurse tried to give artificial respiration to the girl, but to no avail.

Now, investigators are trying to figure out where she took the gun and how she managed to carry it to school.

Lemma encouraged those who are experiencing depressive or suicidal thoughts to seek help.

“What a terrible tragedy,” he said. “We want to remind the public that if someone is showing signs of depression ... there is special help, love and faith.”
