Ukraine is preparing for the legalization of marijuana

A bill has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that would legalize the circulation and use of medical cannabis (marijuana) in Ukraine. The document was signed by 51 deputies from different factions, writes “Currently,«.

The bill was developed in response to a petition to legalize medical marijuana, which was registered on the website of the Verkhovna Rada 30 January 2019 of the year and for the 42 day gained the necessary 25 thousands of votes to consider. Previously, the legalization of medical marijuana was supported by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, as well as the former i.o. the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Ulyana Suprun, by birth from Detroit, Michigan.

The petition offered to give access to drugs with cannabis to patients with chronic pain, epilepsy, anorexia, post-traumatic syndrome, asthma, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, with various forms of sclerosis and many other diseases. Also, deputies were going to apply to the Government of Ukraine with a request to change the list of drugs and decriminalize the use of cannabis in Ukraine for medical and research purposes.

The Ukrainian Medical Cannabis Association estimates the number of potential consumers of medical cannabis in 2 million people.

The eve of the time inauguration president Vladimir Zelensky объявил on the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada and the new parliamentary elections in Ukraine. However, the current deputies still have two months to finish off job.
