"Zelensky took full responsibility": the Ukrainian government resigned. VIDEO
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said that on Wednesday, May 22, he would submit a resignation letter.
“The government resigns before the newly elected Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and not before the newly elected president. I decided to resign immediately after the next government meeting on Wednesday,” Groysman said at a briefing broadcast online, writes RIA News.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers also noted that with his decision to dissolve parliament, the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky “took full responsibility for those threats in the future that exist on the agenda,” quotes apostrophe.
“After the new president was elected, I said that I was aware of the new challenges and threats that lie in the future. And I suggested to the president and parliament that we jointly formulate a new agenda and very quickly begin to make decisions that will make Ukraine stronger. The president chose a different path,” Groysman said.

He noted that the Cabinet adequately responded to all the challenges that were before the Ukrainian government, and he was not ashamed of his work.
“The country is in good condition today,” the prime minister added.
Groysman noted that he will participate in the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
“In the new parliament, together with my like-minded people, I will form a professional team that will be able to serve the state and make Ukraine successful,” the prime minister added.
Under Ukrainian law, the decision on the resignation of the prime minister takes the Verkhovna Rada. In the case of the resignation of the prime minister, the entire government resigns.
Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kirilenko called Groisman’s decision harmful to the country.
“The Verkhovna Rada is going to elections, the president is just taking over the affairs. And at this time, the government would have to ensure economic stability and security during the elections. However, emotions and political calculation prevailed. Unfortunately,” Kirilenko wrote on Twitter.
