Tens of thousands of highchairs are recalled in the USA: they break and injure babies

Highchairs for children, commonly used in restaurants, are being recalled after reports that they broke and children fell. Restaurant owners and customers with young children are warned about this. The edition told in more detail Fox6Now.

According to a February 23 notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall includes 22 Lancaster Table & Seating highchairs in the US, in addition to approximately 400 sold in Canada.

The notice stated that Clark Associates, based in Lancaster, PA, had received "three reports of children's high chairs breaking during use and children falling." No injuries reported.

The high chairs are available in black, mahogany or walnut finishes. They were sold either assembled or ready to assemble.

Only chairs made in China are subject to the recall. "Made in China" or "Made in ____" is printed on a label located on the front of the seatback and on a product label located on the underside of the seat, consumer safety officials said. The model number is printed on a label on the underside of the seat.

The recalled highchairs have the following model numbers:

Ready to build:

• 164HIGHCKDBK
• 164HIGHCKDMO
• 164HIGHCKDNT
• 164HIGHCHWN

The recalled high chairs were sold at The Restaurant Store and online at www.therestaurantstore.com and www.webstaurantstore.com between January and September 2022, priced between $43 and $65.

CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled high chairs and return them to any store in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland or contact Clark Associates for a free replacement or store credit refund.

The notice states that consumers will be asked to provide a photograph of the dismantled or destroyed product and dispose of it.
