In Michigan, a 9-year-old boy was accused of killing a mother

In Sturgis, Michigan, an 9-year-old boy was charged with killing his mother in a shootout, cites Rtvi AP Agency.

The boy, whose name is not disclosed, also charged with using firearms. According to court documents, a woman (her name is also not called) was shot with a rifle.

According to Sheriff Bradley Balka, the boy was undergoing a psychiatric examination in a special institution for minors. The authorities did not disclose information about the circumstances of the murder or details of the charges.

According to St. Joseph John MacDono District Attorney, a woman was found early in the morning on May 6 in the town of Faun River, which is located in 160 miles (about 260 km) from Detroit.

Alexia Pieronsky from Sturgis reported local WWMT-TV channel that in February 2018, the boy threatened to stab her 8-year-old daughter. Pieronski added that she told the elementary school director about this, but no action followed.

School representative Arthur Ebert published a statement saying that they provide support to students and staff. He noted that they are not authorized to disseminate information about the incident due to the confidentiality and delicate nature of the tragedy.
