In Massachusetts, two Russian-speaking men were brutally murdered: the police suspect that their good friend did it

On April 15, the bodies of two previously missing men from Medford, Massachusetts, were found in a warehouse at iStorage on North Beacon Street in Boston. One of them was dismembered, reports CBS.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's office on April 14 released photos of 28-year-old Pavel Vekshin and 37-year-old Kirill Shchukin. Law enforcement officers asked for help with the search for the disappeared.

When the men stopped communicating, friends and colleagues contacted the police. On April 9, Vekshin and Shchukin were officially declared missing. Although they disappeared much earlier - no one has seen them or communicated with them by phone since March 30.

Pavel Vekshin was a photographer, led an interesting telegram channel about Boston. Schukin worked in field cyber security.

The killer was a good friend of the dead

Both men died from multiple stab wounds and their bodies were found inside plastic bins, Ryan said. She said that Shchukin's body was dismembered and dispersed in parts in several of these tanks, reports WCVB. Investigators found bleach, rubber gloves, and items belonging to both men next to the tanks.

On April 16, Leonid Volkov, 37, from Medford, who knew both victims, was charged with murder.

Investigators found that Shchukin was the guarantor under the lease agreement for Volkov's apartment in Medford. However, recently Shchukin refused to be a guarantor for the renewal of the lease, as a result of which Volkov was evicted from this apartment.

“Shchukin recently refused to be a guarantor under a lease agreement, and this refusal led to a quarrel and Volkov’s eviction from the apartment,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Investigators determined that Volkov and Shchukin met in a rented U-Haul truck that Volkov drove on March 29. The truck was also found in the warehouse where the bodies were found. In addition, witnesses saw them together that day.

Volkov was arrested on April 15 in the evening in Attleboro and is expected to appear in Somerville District Court on April 18.
