Electric shock and ignition: Target withdraws dangerous charging cables for iPhone

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall notice this week for Heyday 3-foot (90 cm) cables due to concerns that the cable could shock consumers or cause a fire. Heyday is Target's home electronics brand.

According to the commission, about 90 000 metallic charging cables "violet, green and iridescent blue" are subject to recall. Anyone who has purchased one of the items in Target must return it to the store and receive a refund.
