Suspected of attacking a synagogue in Poway, California. 19-year-old John Ernest, a few hours before the attack, posted on Facebook a link to his “open letter” containing many anti-Semitic statements, writes Meduza.

In his “manifesto,” Ernest praised the criminals who committed attacks on mosques in new zealand и synagogue in Pittsburgh (Brendon Tarrant and Robert Bowers also published “manifestos” before crimes). He also announced his involvement in the burning of a mosque in the city of Escondido, located, like Poway, near San Diego. Ernest said he was not a supporter of US President Donald Trump for his support for Israel.

Ernest was enrolled in a branch of the University of California in San Marcos. Previously, he had no criminal record and problems with the law. Local authorities say the crime was committed on the basis of hate.

US President Donald Trump expressed his condolences to the Jewish community.

“Today, the heart of America is grieving for the victims of the terrible shooting at a synagogue in California. All our nation mourns the death of people, prays for the wounded and expresses condolences to the Jewish community. We strongly condemn the evil anti-Semitism and hatred that must be conquered, ”the president said.
