The third president of Georgia and former head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili, who was previously deprived of his Ukrainian citizenship, escorted by supporters, broke through the Polish-Ukrainian border through the Shegini checkpoint and as of 20: in Kiev time, 30 is in Ukraine without corresponding documents, writes “Ukrainian Truth".

According to Ukrainian MP Yuriy Derevyanko, a crowd of people supporting Saakashvili near the border at some point moved to a non-functional checkpoint. People broke through the cordon of Ukrainian border guards and police, after which they surrounded Saakashvili and the Ukrainian politicians and public figures accompanying him with a tight ring, and “brought” them into the territory of Ukraine. The people's deputy added that after breaking through the cordon, the security forces stepped aside and did not interfere with what was happening.

Assistant to the Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Oleg Slobodian on Facebook confirmed that the crowd, along with Saakashvili, had crossed the border.

“The crowd broke through the checkpoint. A fight broke out. Now it’s difficult to even predict the consequences of this situation,” Slobodyan noted.

During the breakthrough, Saakashvili promised, “that he will do everything and will definitely win,” and the crowd of his supporters chanted: “Misha!”

Before this, Saakashvili tried to enter Ukraine by train, but the train did not leave, citing the presence on it of “a person who cannot enter the country.” The remaining passengers were transferred to another train or offered alternative ways to get to their destination.

The ex-president of Georgia is sure that Poroshenko should be in charge of the situation, since the Ukrainian border guards violated the procedures of the Ukrainian legislation.

Recall, in July 2017, President of Ukraine Peter Poroshenko Saakashvili deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.

In response, the former head of the Odessa region stated that he would challenge this decision in court, as well as that "will not stop the struggle for Ukraine."

Despite being deprived of his citizenship, Saakashvili arrived in Poland with a Ukrainian passport and announced his intention to cross the border of Ukraine on September 10.

The Polish border guards allowed Saakashvili to enter Ukraine, however Saakashvili’s bus got stuck in the “neutral zone”: The Ukrainian side closed the border on its side, and the border guards reported that “according to information from the operational duty officer of the SBU for the Lviv region, the Shegini crossing is mined.”

After that, supporters of Saakashvili decided to break into Ukraine by storm. At the moment, Mikheil Saakashvili is announcing a rally in Lviv, and the Ukrainian authorities claim that this situation may affect the country's visa-free regime with Europe.
