The burnt down center in Kemerovo turned out to be unauthorized

The head of the inspection of the state building control of the Kemerovo region was detained on suspicion of abuse of authority.

The investigation into the criminal case of a fire in the Kemerovo shopping center "Winter Cherry" detained Tanzilia Komkova, the chief regional inspector of state construction supervision, on suspicion of abuse of power, Interfax reports, citing the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) Svetlana Petrenko.

“A criminal case has been opened against the head of the state construction supervision inspection of the Kemerovo region, Tanzilia Komkova, for abuse of power. She was detained,” Petrenko told Interfax on Friday.

Petrenko reported that Komkova did not oppose the operation of the shopping center in Kemerovo, which caused the death of dozens of people. “According to the investigation, Komkova did not take measures to suppress the operation of the unauthorized building of the Winter Cherry shopping and entertainment complex in the city of Kemerovo without a construction permit, which resulted in the death of visitors to the shopping center,” she said.

“Today Komkova will be charged, the investigation will make a request for her arrest. The investigation will also check Komkova’s actions for corruption,” Petrenko noted.

Investigators have already appointed a judicial fire-technical examination, profits have arrived in Kemerovo, and experts from St. Petersburg have begun work.

Komkovoy faces punishment of imprisonment for up to ten years.

At the reception office of the state construction supervision office of the Kemerovo region, the Interfax agency was informed that no investigative actions have yet been carried out in the inspection building. This information was confirmed to the agency by one of the state construction supervision employees.
