Almost two times cheaper: Starlink lowered prices for Ukrainians
Satellite Internet service from Elon Musk Starlink is active in Ukraine. The Starlink terminals themselves cost $499. However, after the purchase, you also have to pay for a monthly subscription that costs $100. It is symbolic that Starlink announced the reduction in the cost of services to Ukrainians just on Independence Day.
“As of 24.08.2022/60/XNUMX, Starlink is reducing your monthly service fee to $XNUMX. The price reduction takes into account the conditions of your local market and should reflect the purchasing power parity of our customers,” Starlink said in the letter.
Terminal owners do not need to do anything to receive the discount, the price reduction will be automatically reflected in invoices created after August 24th.

How much money will it save
Now Starlink terminals are used literally throughout Ukraine - the military provides themselves with communications in areas where there is no other coverage, and critical infrastructure facilities install terminals for uninterrupted Internet in case of network damage.

According to the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, the total number of Starlinks in Ukraine now stands at 18, which is more than in any other country in Europe. If we imagine that all of them are now actively used, we get an impressive amount of expenses - $ 000 million, or about 1,8 million hryvnia per month.
That is, reducing the cost of a subscription from $100 to $60 will allow Ukraine to spend 26,5 million hryvnia ($718) less monthly.
