'To answer for arrogant behavior': Congress called on Trump to impose new sanctions against Russia
On Monday, July 29, US Congressmen Eliot Engel and Michael McCall addressed a letter to US President Donald Trump calling for new economic sanctions against Russia in response to the poisoning of former intelligence officer Sergei Skrypal in English Salisbury last year.
“We are deeply concerned that Russia has not been sanctioned, as required by US law, for Russia's use of chemical weapons against persons residing in the United Kingdom,” the letter quotes Sputnik. “We urge you to immediately impose legally mandated additional measures against Russia to hold it accountable for this brazen behavior.”
Congressmen warned that the refusal to respond to the "deadpan aggression of Russia is unacceptable and will require corrective action from Congress."
