The US Supreme Court allowed Trump to build a wall on the border with Mexico without Congress approval.

The US Supreme Court on the evening of July 26 confirmed the right of US President Donald Trump to use $ 2,5 billion from the Pentagon’s budget to build a border wall on the border with Mexico - in the states of California, Arizona and New Mexico.

The court by a majority in one vote overturned the decision of a federal judge in the state of California, which banned spending budget funds for the construction of the wall, writes Air force. The verdict means that funds previously allocated by the Pentagon Congress can now be used to build sections of the wall in California, Arizona and New Mexico.

Controlled by representatives of the Democratic Party, Congress did not approve the expenses. But in response to this, Trump declared a state of emergency on the border of the United States and Mexico and was going to use the military budget for construction, referring to the rule that regulates the use of the US Army governing the military in emergency situations, Voice of America.

The law declares that the Pentagon can implement “military construction projects” even if they are “not authorized by law enacted by Congress” if the constructed facilities are necessary for the military to be used during a national emergency.

Democrats disputed this rule. But the Supreme Court, where now five out of nine judges represent the Conservatives, and two - Trump's direct appointees, sided with the president.

However, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has already said that it “allows Donald Trump to steal part of the military budget and spend it on building a costly and ineffective border wall that Congress objects to.”

“Our Founding Fathers created a democracy led by the people, not a monarch,” Pelosi said.

Several US environmental groups also categorically objected to the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico, who argued that the construction would not allow Americans to admire the natural beauty and use the territory along the wall for recreation. But the US Supreme Court concluded that the plaintiffs do not have legal grounds to act in this role.

The decision of the court will allow the Trump administration to begin construction of the border wall on an 150 km border segment. But while several more processes are going on in other areas of the fence.

According to the US Customs and Border Services, in June of this year, a 104 344 person was arrested on the southwestern border of the United States, which is 28% less than in May.

The Trump administration claims that this decline is due to new agreements with Mexico to limit migration, including the adoption of stricter border measures on the Mexican side of the border.
