Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the RT channel, interviewed Russians Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov for the first time, whom the United Kingdom accused of being poisoned by the Scripale family. The journalist said that she was the only one whom these people trust. At the same time, it is still not clear whether the channel itself talked with the people themselves.

On the day of September 13, RT published an interview with two men who are considered to be the very suspects in the poisoning of the former GRU Colonel Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia. They confirmed that it was their photographs published by the British police, these are their real names and they often fly to Europe for business and pleasure.

Interlocutors RT said they were not related to the incident and are now afraid to go out. According to Petrov and Boshirov, they do not cooperate with the Main Intelligence Directorate, but work as “medium-sized entrepreneurs” in the fitness industry.. Simonyan asked what unites the two men, hinting at their orientation, but they refused to talk about their personal lives.

The suspects noted that they visited the UK for tourism purposes and spent there three days. According to them, 3 of March they walked around Salisbury for about an hour due to heavy snowfall and the difference in the schedule of electric trains, after which they returned to London. They allegedly planned to see Stonehenge, the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary and Old Sarum, but could not do it because of the "snow collapse." On March 4, both men saw that “everything melted away” and again went to Salisbury to “complete this business” - to visit tourist sites.

According to Alexander and Ruslan, if Putin had not publicly called them to communicate with journalists, they would have recorded a video message.

On the morning of September 13, Simonyan said that she had already spoken with Petrov and Bashirov the night before in her office. Both of them allegedly refused to give interviews to anyone other than Simonyan, since they "know her on the air, read social networks, and therefore, again, they say, they trust."
