Moscow

December 22 in Moscow officially starts the festival "Winter in the city" (aka "Journey to Christmas"), the scenery of which was prepared for several weeks. Its organizers promise "an atmosphere of magic for all ages", performances, master classes, ice ballets, light installations, winter games and fireworks.

The festival will last until January 14. At this time, more than 80 sites throughout the city, including 20 in the center of Moscow, will constantly function.

The Ice Festival with ice copies of the Eiffel Tower, the Christ the Savior statue and other world sights will be held on Poklonnaya Hill. On the New Arbat, the “Scandinavian Christmas” is waiting for the strollers, where they will tell about the khyugga and introduce them to the European traditions. Manezhnaya Square has turned into a maze scene from Christmas trees of different heights, and the largest skating rink and installations on a space theme are open at the VDNH. In addition, for the first time it will be possible to meet the New Year on Tverskaya Street, which will be a pedestrian from December 31 to January 2.

Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, New Year's decorations appeared earlier than usual - they began to decorate the city on December 1. Nevsky Prospect again, just like a year ago, became the “Winter Garden” with crystal “apple trees”. Glowing rotundas were installed on the Palace Bridge, “champagne glasses” of garlands were installed on the lampposts of Moskovsky Prospect, and a small Christmas nativity scene near the Kazan Cathedral. Again decorated with the stars of New Holland.

More than 50 artificial Christmas trees were installed in the city, including the main St. Petersburg Christmas tree on Palace Square. It will officially open 23 December.

In Ukraine, the first holiday long weekend begins. On Monday, December 25, the Christians of the Western rite celebrate Christmas, which this year will be the official state holiday.

In Kiev, the mass New Year celebrations began on St. Nicholas Day, when the main tree was solemnly lit on the Sofia Square. Kiev has allocated for the New Year holidays 4,5 million UAH.

For children there will be a large carousel on Mikhailovskaya Square, 40 meters in height. On Sophia Square you can dance to the songs of Ukrainian performers, drink mulled wine at the fair, watch the New Year's fireworks. You can also visit the park "Kievan Rus", where the show will be twins, a costume party, there will be delicious treats and free horse riding.

Also, a large-scale party with 31 December on 1 in January is organized by the Kiev television center "Pencil" on Dorogozhychi. There will be a party "Teleport", accompanied by modern electronic music from Morphom, LemOjOvie, Marsbeing, Kulakostas, Polygrim, Hindu and Danielyan. And much more.
